The Quill Hill overlook in Maine makes for one of the most beautiful drives and views in the state. Located near Rangeley, the road to the top offers 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains and winds through thick forests in this remote part of the state. The road is gravel but well-maintained, making it accessible to most vehicles. At the summit, there’s a lookout area where you can see rolling hills and mountains covered in trees as far as the eye can see.

Trails are open! Some areas are in better condition than others. The Grand Falls trail, as well as others, have a few thin spots, so please exercise caution, as early-season conditions may present hazards. While we definitely need more snow, we do have a solid base. Reports indicate that there may be a little more snow on the west side of the area.

We would like to congratulate our two hunters this week Andrew Bruna and Ben Bruna on their Maine moose! These guys traveled from Kansas to hunt with us in the rugged western Maine mountains and did an amazing job!
