Trip Report: A Long Weekend at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort 🌴☀️
We spent a long weekend at Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort recently, and it reminded me that sometimes the best family vacations aren’t packed with schedules and reservations. They’re the ones that allow you to slow down.
One of the biggest perks for our family was the drive. At about 3 hours from the Augusta area, it was a much easier travel day than many of our favorite vacation destinations.
We stayed in a 2-Bedroom Villa overlooking the marsh, which gave us plenty of space for our family of five plus a full kitchen. As strange as it felt to cook while on vacation, having the flexibility to make some meals in the room helped keep things easy (and budget-friendly).
Over the course of our stay we enjoyed:
🏖️ Beach days at Disney’s Beach House
🧇 Mickey waffles every morning
🏴☠️ A pirate cruise in Sea Pines
🏊 Pool time and playground adventures
🐬 Dolphin sightings right from our balcony
🍔 Local restaurants offering discounts to Disney Hilton Head guests
🌅 Peaceful marsh views and incredible wildlife
What surprised me most was how relaxing the resort felt. There wasn’t any pressure to “do it all.” The girls spent hours playing at the beach, pool, and playgrounds, and we had plenty of time to simply enjoy being together.
If you’re looking for a family-friendly beach destination with Disney touches, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort is absolutely worth considering.
As a travel advisor, I love helping families find the right vacation for their season of life. Sometimes that means a Disney cruise, sometimes it means Walt Disney World, and sometimes it means a quiet beach weekend where the biggest decision of the day is beach or pool. 🌴
