Let’s remind her ourselves to breathe and be in the moment - to savour it….
Dear Friends,
As we approach the festive season—a time so often filled with plans, preparations, and a flurry of to-dos—I’ve been reflecting on something travel has taught me time and time again: the most of the world moves at a gentler pace than we do here at home.
When I’m abroad, especially in Europe, life seems to unfold with a quiet ease. Meals are savoured rather than rushed. Conversations linger. There is no urgency to place a menu before you, rush out your water, deliver your meal in record time, or hurry the bill to your table. These things simply aren’t treated as pressing matters. Instead, there’s an unspoken invitation to be present—to enjoy the moment just as it is.
Returning to the United States, the contrast feels striking. Our culture often encourages speed, efficiency, and “what’s next?” far more than it celebrates stillness or appreciation. And yet, travel reminds us that slowing down is not only possible—it’s restorative. It’s nourishing. It’s a gift.
As the holidays draw near, I hope you’ll give yourself permission to embrace a bit of that gentler rhythm.
-Take a moment to breathe deeply.
-Savour your surroundings.
-Enjoy the company you keep.
-And let gratitude find you in the quiet spaces between one thing and the next.
The most meaningful moments of the season rarely come from rushing. They come from presence—from noticing, feeling, and simply allowing yourself to be fully here. I know I'm going to try!
Wishing you a peaceful, joyful holiday season filled with warmth, gratitude, and beautifully unhurried moments.
Warmest regards,
