Autumn on the Iron Range is beautiful, but it only lasts for so long. However, the peak time for fall colors is typically late September and early October - and between fall festivals, hiking trails, shuttle tours, kayaking, and even the Superior National Forest scenic byway, there are a whole lot of different ways to experience them ❤️

Visitors coming specifically for the fall colors should definitely check out these memorable spots:

The annual Honktoberfest returns on September 26th to downtown Biwabik, MN📍 and Giants Ridge 🍻

It's a festive takeover of the town with games and activities for all ages along with dachshund races, chainsaw art carving, scenic autumn views of the Superior National Forest, b**r sampling, drinking games, Bavarian treats, and a whole lot more 🙌

We were happy to see more submissions this year for our Wander The Range Photo Competition & Giveaway‼

We loved these photos highlighting two of our favorite iconic spots on the Iron Range along with the energy of the photo takers ❤

The Bruce Mine Headframe in Chisholm, MN📍
Travelers using the ATV trails, mountain bike trails or the Mesabi trail may have passed this iconic structure or have seen it along the highway.
The Bruce Mine Headframe was once a mine shaft that would take iron miners down to the tunnels below, at least until open pit mining was put into practice.

This is one of the few left standing and now serves as a historic trailhead marker‼️

Calling all ATV, UTV, and OHV riders to Giants Ridge on August 27th for an evening of BBQ, drinks, and good company with your fellow Range riders! The fun gets started at 5PM in the Burnt Onion Kitchen & Brews parking lot, so come hungry, grab some BBQ, enjoy the cash bar, and catch up with old friends or make some new ones along the way!

This is the second of three Ride to the Ridge meetups this summer with the final ride being in September - so gear up and head out for a night of enjoying the trails! 🌲
