Thanks, Heather Headley! We're glad we were able to help. We'll pass your kind words on to the whole Captain Jack's team. Happy Thanksgiving!
My and I planned a surprise / trip for my and her . So, for the past week, I was ‘Lady Sitting’ them. I was their tour guide, driver, wallet, cook (at times), and (at times) even their temporary mother (I had to remind them to behave, once or ten times 😄).
Anyhow, I took them for a boat ride, and literally SECONDS after this photo was taken, my (you can see me holding it) fell into the murky water. It fell between the slats of the dock, and no one could see it. the water was 5ft deep, with a soft, muddy floor, so it couldn’t be gotten that easily. Not to mention all the ‘friends’ that call that water their home. The sweet driver of the boat, (in the picture with us…), went into immediate action. He got down on his belly and tried and tried. More drivers heard what happened and came over with tools, advice, help…. My mother and her sisters started praying. And I knelt on the dock and prayed too. I think you all know that losing a wallet, especially in a different state could present some problems. I really thought it was lost, and I was already trying to figure out how I was going to get around or pay for anything without a wallet. Unbeknownst to me, sweet Stanford and his supervisor had sent messages to the crew, specifically one of their young and ‘smaller’ guys. He flew up to the dock on his boat un******ng. He looked at me and said, ‘I’ll get it for you.’ He then asked the men to hold his feet, and head first, he maneuvered his way between the dock, and went into that dark water. A compromised bladder. A racing heart. And pleading prayers followed him in that water. A few attempts later…He came up holding my wallet. Intact. Just wet. I hugged those men and cried. We all did. Yes! They got me my wallet. But I was so grateful THAT THEY DID…for the kindness shown. They could have stopped…Told me it was lost…told me they tried (we all knew that they did…), but these gentlemen and their amazing lady supervisor did all they could until they got it for me. And they have no idea who I am or what I do, or what i would give them for their efforts (they actually asked me not to give them anything…I still did and said to give it to their wives 😉). That information was never discussed or even needed.
For that, for them…we are all grateful.
So, to Stanford and his team (who may never even see this), and the ‘young and skinny’ guy (as they called him 😄)…thanks for showing us such kindness.
I’ll never forget the miracle of it.
(By the way, it’s also the BEST ride in )
