✨ Explore the cosmic wonders of the night sky!
Join us after hours at the Wallops Visitor Center Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 8–10 p.m. for an evening of stargazing at our Perseid Meteor Shower event!
This unique experience will be guided by NASA Solar System Ambassadors, local amateur astronomers, and Wallops Visitor Center staff, providing both experienced astronomy enthusiasts and first-time skywatchers an opportunity to observe the Perseid meteor shower, one of the year’s most anticipated celestial events!

This event is FREE and family friendly! Viewing is dependent upon clear skies. If cloudy or inclement weather prevents telescope viewing, indoor activities and programming will continue as planned.
After-Hour Tips:
🕗 Arrive early enough to enjoy the full experience! The event will end promptly at 10 p.m.
🦟 Bug protection is recommended as mosquitoes and other insects may be present.
🏮Flashlights recommended as the viewing area will be dark - please use a red filter or red light to help preserve night vision and minimize light interference for other skywatchers.
