Had a chance to shake down the Supra and get some baseline data last weekend with . 1:11.8 around Lighting all stock besides DTC60 front and DTC30 rear pads, 18x11” squared with leftover 275/35/18 GLTC Maxxis VR2.
First and most immediate issue was fuel starvation at anything under 3/4 tank. I will be developing a surge tank system to supply the factory high pressure fuel pump for those not running port injection.
Second was charge cooling, with gradual loss of power over the course of even a few laps. This will be remedied with a full suite of intake and exhaust components.
Third and funniest was the suspension, kind of sketchy braking down from 150+ mph with several inches of suspension travel and the associated geometry / balance change. dampers will do the trick and I will test different spring rates next season!
