Beginning in 2025, the University Women’s Association will no longer host an annual Holiday Bazaar.

Ending the UWA Holiday Bazaar was a very difficult decision, and one that was sad for us. After presenting this event for 54 years, we found it was no longer sustainable for our membership. It takes 80 volunteers and a 20 person bazaar team working over 6
months each year to put on the bazaar to our standards.

Diminishing resources and volunteers, and the fact that many of the core team are in their 70s and 80s finally forced us to face the fact that we could no longer continue.

We appreciate your support, loyalty and contributions over the years! We’ll be looking for you at one of the local bazaars this fall.

Do you know a gifted Alaskan artist of crafter ready to begin selling their creations to the public? The University Women’s Association Holiday Bazaar has several one-day booths available for the November 10 session.

Share a booth with a fellow creator and start an annual holiday
tradition. Our bazaar is a retail outlet for Alaskan artists and craftspeople who have limited opportunities to sell their own handcrafted products.

If you mail your application packet from inside the Geist Road post office in Fairbanks, it will be placed in the UWA Box. Instead of making a trip to the Anchorage sorting facility and back, your application is received sooner.

The vendor application and the instructions are available for download on the University Women's Association web site (www.uaf.edu/uwa).

Be sure to download the instruction letter for its registration instructions plus lots of answers to question that vendors may have.

Our bazaar still has several one-day but only a few two-day booths available for interested vendors.

In just 29 days, the University Women's Association is holding their 54th bazaar with Alaskan artists, hand crafters and food vendors. Lots of exciting gift ideas for discerning shoppers.

Come and bring the family. See breathtaking Alaskan photography, paintings and wall art on the same sales floor as Native carving and beadwork, plus kuspuks, luscious fur and leather goods. In other booths, meet crafters of sewn, knitted or crochet creations along side metal and wood crafters. Children's toys, pottery, stained glass and jewelry shine next to locally made cards, candles and cosmetics. You can buy your loved ones foods of many kinds including spices, condiments, sausage, wellness tinctures and locally produced honey.

Sign up to help out at the UWA Holiday Bazaar! Volunteer workers are needed for set up on November 8 and for the bazaar days, Sat. and Sun. Nov. 9 and 10. Volunteers may sign up on line at https://uaf-uwa.ivolunteer.com/hb_2024. The site includes dates and times volunteers are needed and descriptions of tasks.

Be part of the community fun! Customers and vendors alike prefer our bazaar in large part because of the service we provide through our volunteers.

Less than 3 weeks to showtime! Here is how you can help us make the UWA Holiday Bazaar a success—and help us fund University of Alaska Fairbanks scholarships!

Go to uaf-uwa.ivolunteer.com and sign up to help at the bazaar. We need people to help with doors for vendors at 7:30-10 AM and at 4-5 PM both days. ALSO we need volunteers to work at the vendor check-in table—2 hour shifts from 7:30, both days. Set-up of tables is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3 at 3:30—we need help moving tables and chairs. Thank you!
