We have officially cancelled all flights for today, Tuesday 22 October. We apologize for those affected and will be working to reschedule those on cancelled flights. Please don't give Rita a hard time, she doesn't control the weather or the unplowed runways.

Update:
We are cancelling the remainder of our flights for the day (Tuesday, 22 October)
Due to weather and road conditions, Warbelows is cancelling our morning flight to Minto, Manley & Rampart for Tuesday, 22 October, and will not have our coworkers in the office in the morning. We will work on rescheduling passengers booked on our cancelled flights on the next available flight. We will assess our remaining flights tomorrow morning. Please stay tuned for updates. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

We were honored to be able to help with this event. Aviation is so important to so many in Alaska, so it was fun to be able to share it with the next generation. Thanks for letting us be a part of it.

Controllers in Fairbanks helped a group of Scouts earn their merit badges with a tour of the tower.

What a nice write-up from the Boston Globe about our Bush Mail flight. Rita, Sam and Matt are famous now! And I see Hunter in a picture, along with Jaret, not to mention Dee and Warren. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Catching a lift on one of the mail flights proves a fun and inexpensive way to get a bird's-eye view of interior Alaska and meet some of the people who live there.

Not to brag, but we flew just about everywhere that had a runway plowed today. We just wanted to mention that before letting you know that we are closing at 12pm on New Year's Eve. We hope everyone has a safe New Year's Eve!!!

Edited to add: Our phone lines are also down, I think because we don't have power.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, due to winds, snow, a power outage at work, roads that are dangerous, etc, our flights are cancelled and our office and freight department is closed today (December 29th). Here is a look at the snow and wind this morning, as I was standing still. Everyone booked on today's flights have been moved to tomorrow's flight (although someone in Beaver may need to spend more time with their grandkids as we may be one seat short, but we will look at that tomorrow).
