The Great Turtle Smuggling Epidemic of TSA Checkpoints 🐢🛫

Forget liquids over 3.4 ounces or leaving your laptop in your bag. The TSA had to issue an official, deadpan public safety plea addressing a surprisingly intimate trend: Passengers hiding live reptiles in their undergarments!

The Double Incident:
• The Newark Crotch-Turtle: A male traveler walking through body screening at Newark Liberty International Airport was flagged during a routine patdown. When the officer asked what was in his pants, the man casually reached down his trousers and pulled out a live turtle wrapped in a small blue bath towel.

• The Miami Bra-Turtles: Just a few months later at Miami International Airport, a female traveler was going through checkpoint screening when officers noticed something off. During a secondary patdown, she was forced to "divest" two live turtles from her bra: one wrapped in plastic and the other in medical tape.

TSA's Hilarious Official Reaction:
The TSA put the incidents in its annual "Unusual Checkpoint Finds" report and posted a plea across its official social media accounts:

"Friends, please—and we cannot emphasize this enough—stop hiding animals in weird places on your body and then trying to sneak them through airport security. Notice we said 'carried' and not 'hidden underneath your clothing.' No, really."

Business travel in 2026 has moved beyond recovery and into a steadier, more predictable rhythm. SAP Concur's latest survey finds, however, that while travelers are eager to hit the road, they face anxiety about geopolitical instability. Corporate buyers are responding by leaning into AI for real-time risk monitoring, cost control, and duty-of-care tracking. Meanwhile, airlines are quietly reshaping the map. United is now flying its Boeing 737 MAX 8 on routes approaching eight hours, opening nonstop service to European cities that previously required widebody jets. Lastly, the DC area is continuing to flourish with luxury business travel opportunities.
