The irresistible joy of sailing.

For all its challenges there is something quite easy about being on a ship - enjoying it. In fact, sometimes that’s all there is to do.

Being surrounded by water and sky makes one feel very small, which can often be quite a relief, as life’s problems also seem to shrink in the massive expanses of nature.

There is no Uber eats on the water & Dinner doesn’t just appear out of thin air, so the ship’s cook, known as a steward, is perhaps the most important role onboard.

Bad food is thrown number one cause of poor moral. But if the food is good then it’s hard to complain. Especially since it’s the steward who has to stay below deck and deal with the unexpected lurches of the sea while trying to balance pots, pans and fire.

This is why we are very lucky to have Luke aboard. It is his first time cooking on a tall ship, but you wouldn’t know it from the food. It tastes like he’s been doing this his whole life.

There are so many lessons to be learned from trying new things. We’ll catch up with Luke later and see if he has anything to share! But in the meantime, remember that no matter what you are doing - eat well and stay hydrated. It’s important on these longer voyages.

What a wonderful feeling: Being out on the open water, sails full of wind, at the beginning of a voyage.

Today marks the beginning of a much larger journey: your chance to become part of The Planet School !

We have just launched our first crowdfunding campaign and are offering some great rewards for early supporters, including three different kits that pack the spirit of our adventure into a one box.

Daring is a key ingredient for any change to happen. We know that changing the way we educate is necessary, so to prove it's possible we are sailing from Detroit to the Caribbean for our first semester at sea.

To be part of this endeavor, in any way, can lead to many more adventures: Be it voyages aboard Wonder, or building our next two campuses.

We wager that the future can be truly great, and we are here for the next generations who are going to make it happen.
