Had the pleasure of taking some old friends that I have not seen in years out on a trip. We had a blast catching up and catching fish. Caught plenty of fish but had to move around some to find some keepers. Then finished the day up looking for some triple tails getting ready for a tournament next weekend. Saw plenty but only casted at one bc it had a tag and wanted to give some data back to USA on the fish’s movements.

Today was a last min trip. Had a scheduling change and one of my repeat customers from NY happened to be in town and ready to fish. Goal was to catch some fish for him to cook up for some family and catch a triple tail. Well the first part started off good. Caught some nice trout and some white trout. Kept 2 specks and some white for his dinner and released all the rest. Went looking for some triple tail and it was like playing checkers with all the boats out there fishing the rodeo. Didn’t get into them so will have to try again next time. Always fun having a good buddy/client on the boat goofing off and catching up. Until next time enjoyed the trip.

Had three generations on the boat today. The youngest generation put on a catching clinic. Between the two young men they caught a bunch of specks and white trout to start off the trip. Then they ended the morning with some drag pulling jacks. Tons of stories were told the whole trip and plenty of new stories were made. Looking forward to them hopefully being able to make it back in the spring time for a fun fishing trip for their spring break.

What a fun weekend for the kids at capt. Longbeards fishing adventures. Deckhand longbraids and her fishing partner harrison showed up to take the top spots in Spanish. Such a fun time we have had this weekend and looking forward to a lot more fishing coming up in the future. Happy birthday America.

This morning was a fun laid back tournament trip at the yacht club. Mr. Charlie Glass did a good job sweeping it on this tournament. Deckhand Longbraids was on top of it helping out to get him in first place. Tomorrow is her turn and it’s time to get serious. Looking forward to the annual youth tournament and fun with our friends on the boat. Happy Fourth of July from Captain Longbeard’s fishing adventures!

Have the weekend off to spend some time with the family. Deckhand long braids has some tournaments coming up next weekend. So i guess dad has to go scout for her while she is away. Only had a 2 to 3 hour window before the wind picked up. But two for two for some catch and release action which is always fun. Hopefully the big ones show up next weekend for rose to get on them.

Been busy lately with a lot of charters, tournaments and boat deliveries. Today’s afternoon trip was a fun one for sure. This family got the winning bid at the Shuck Cancer silent auction event for a 4 hour trip. Dad, son and son’s friend went out to catch some fish. The boys (5 and 7 years old) had a blast catching their first fish and some fish for dinner tonight. Had a blast watching them get so excited about catching every fish, the process of catching fish and even watching the cleaning process. Today I got a chance to take out two of my favorite and closest friends out fishing. Started off catching a mess of undersize trout. Decided to make a change and caught some Spanish and one keeper mangrove. Even was able to get some of them snapper without ever having to get out in the Gulf of America.

Today I had an old highschool friend book a trip fishing with his son, nephew and his sister. Today was a struggle and a tough one for me as a captain always wanting to put them kids on some fish. We tried a lot of spots, covered alot of ground and caught some fish. We did get a couple keepers for them to make some tacos. But this want be the last time them boys are on the boat. Going to hook them up with a fun jack trip once they come in so they can get to fight them bay tuna. Besides the bite we got to spend a great day on mobile bay enjoying the nice day and seeing stuff they have not seen before in person.
