Hello everyone! I have guests coming to stay at Heavenly Haven WV on the 20th of January, that are filming a documentary about work safety and how the explosion at the No. 9 mine changed the work safety laws. My Pappaw, Tom Martin, who lived on K Street, was the electrician for the mines at the time and worked the night shift. I am trying to locate anyone that would have more in-depth information about the explosion and possibly be interviewed for the documentary. Please let me know as-soon-as possible. Thank you!!

This weekend has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life!! When God gave me Heather's Haven WV, I never could have imagined the plans that He had for it. I dedicated this place to Him and filled it with scriptures from those I etched in the concrete at the curb, to those painted on the wine glasses. And to think that I thought it would just be an Airbnb...His plans are always so much greater! 🙌 Yesterday, a film called, Changed Forever, (a faith based movie produced by a faith based production company, JC Films), shot 3 different scenes here for the movie starring Dean Cain (Superman) and the beautiful lead actress, and now friend, Terri Bonds. I never in a million years thought Superman would be at Heather's Haven, let alone cutting up with him and sharing some stories. (He is absolutely hilarious and brilliant.) On Saturday, I got to be in the film for 3 different scenes filmed at a church service and then Saturday night I was in the scene filmed at an AA meeting. I ended my day yesterday with a trip to Saint Albans for the movie premier of Faith, Family and Football (also starring Dean Cain) where I got to welcome the guests at the door and collect their tickets. A huge thank you to my beautiful friend, Cindy Radcliff Lowther, for dragging me along for the ride!! I met Cindy filming the prison scene together for the Lifetime movie with Melissa Joan Hart Monday before last. It's been an absolute wonderful break from rehabbing homes and working construction. I've actually got to get dressed up, act a little, learn how movies are made and most importantly, see how God works through others and the film industry. This film is a true story based on the book, Changed Forever, written by Alexis Lackey, based on her struggle with alcohol addiction and how she lost everything, but God restored all of it. I had the pleasure of meeting her and having her here at Heather's Haven. Her book is for sale on Amazon.

God is good ALL the time and All the time God is good!! 💙✝️💛
