We’re all heart-broken and horrified by the senseless and brutal attacks on two esteemed public servants and their families this past weekend. There’s absolutely no occasion to even remotely give any consideration to the perpetrator’s motives or actions. We condemn him, and any sympathizers of his brutal actions.

Join me today in resolving to tone down political rhetoric and the demonization of those who don’t agree with us. Let’s work in unison to mitigate the hostile discourse that has become the norm in our political and societal theatres. Moreover, we should hold each other accountable for propagating such harmful banter in every situation.

We each have the ears of our respective communities, and we can indeed make a difference. Stay true to our core positions and lead your constituents by example and with gentle guidance. Keep the Hortman and Hoffman families in your thoughts and prayers.
