Yep! Bob Seger Boulevard in Allen Park, Michigan, a city west of Downtown Detroit. Crossing Southfield Rd. on the west side of the street about half a mile south of I-94 freeway. Recently heard this was here, so not sure when it was officially named as such.

Took my Boston friend Tom by the big ass tire, just like when the Wings were there in 1976. You can't stop right by it, as it's on I-94 freeway, so I know a back way. Off Southfield Rd, just south of I-94 on the left side is a street called Enterprise. Just before you pass the Hampton Inn Hotel. Follow that up 1/4 mile and it dead ends at railroad tracks....the closest you can get to it.

Had we been famous rock stars in a limo it would've been ok. This is the first Detroit landmark he got to see after getting off the train this evening.

The old Grande Ballroom in Detroit at 8952 Grand River Ave. and Beverly. It first opened in 1909, and was renovated in 1921 to become a ballroom. In 1966 until it's closing in 1972 it was a rock music venue, with historic shows by bands in their early heyday like Led Zeppelin, The Yardbirds, Cream and The Who. Many local bands who went national got to gig here like Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop, Bob Seger and Alice Cooper, to name a few. The MC5 were pretty much the house band, not only playing on opening night of Russ Gibbs club, but would headline and open up for many national acts that played the venue.

This acrylic sculpture is the sound waves of the song "Louie Louie" by the Kingsman from Portland Oregon. The Rock Traveler strikes again! My friend and some of her friends here, had no idea about this. I am always looking for music/rock & roll landmarks in my travels.

I lived in Seattle from 1996-2004. One of my favorite places was Magnuson park on the northwest shores of Lake Washington. There is a very cool art installation called A Sound Garden (yes Virginia, that is where the band got their name from). When the wind blows, and it does there a lot, it twirls the panels on these pipes, which look like huge flutes. The sound they make is both eerie and beautiful & never the same "song" because the speed of the wind creates a pitch and tempo.
On very windy days, this place is packed with people...I always brought visitors here and everyone loved it. In 1997 when the band broke up, me and my friend Roxanne came here to be sad and comforted.....many Soundgarden fans were also there.

It was a pleasure and a blast to drive the tour bus up from Boston to Portland Maine with Mach Bell of the band MBE....and live to write about it! THE SAVAGE JOURNEY CONTINUES!

"Just move on up, toward your destination" Not meant for the great Curtis Mayfield, but cool nonetheless. In Livonia Michigan, Curtis Street runs east/west halfway between 6 & 7 mile . Mayfield street runs north/South just east of Farmington road. This is near my house....rock and roll is everywhere!

1994 Glenwood Springs Colorado with the nanny family, heading to a dude ranch in the mountains. Stopped by here to see Doc Holiday grave site and do a grave stone rubbing. Had to hop the fence, but said a prayer he didn't mind. This was after seeing the movie Tombstone a few times, loving that flick and that character played by Val Kilmer.

Stopped by to pay respects to Rob Tyner singer of MC5 buried near where I am house sitting. Footsteps in the snow leading to the grave, so he is still getting visitors. Flowers and a harmonica left for him ❤️

In March 1998 I took a trip to London England for a few days and then to Ireland for 10 days. While I was in London I went to Greenwich to stand on the Prime Meridian Line. I was able to have one foot in the eastern half of the world and one foot in the western half of the world simultaneously. Since the late 19th century, the Prime Meridian at Greenwich has divided the eastern and western hemispheres of the Earth - just as the equator divides the northern and southern hemispheres.

In 1884 the Prime Meridian was defined using the Transit Circle telescope at the Royal Observatory. The cross-hairs in the eyepiece of the telescope precisely marked Longitude 0° for the world.

I got a certificate for doing this, and only snapped a few photos, as this was the days of film in a camera and I only had so many rolls on me.....some pics I took came out blurry, so I didn't post them. This was a thrill for me as I am a map-aholic and was very interested in dividing lines for time zones.
