Day 2: Masai Mara Game Drive
We personally travel a lot, and a couple of months ago we are experiencing an incredible Kenya safari with our children.
Day 2 in the Masai Mara and the wildlife encounters were simply unbelievable.
Within the first few hours of our game drive, we had already seen about 80% of the animals we were hoping to spot on this safari. The Masai Mara truly delivers some of the most spectacular wildlife viewing in the world.
During the drive we encountered giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, cheetahs, lions and many more animals, and most of them were only a few feet away from our safari jeep. Watching these incredible animals in their natural habitat, so close and so peaceful, is an experience that is hard to describe.
Today’s photos and videos include elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, ostriches and buffaloes roaming freely across the beautiful savannah landscape.
And this is only Day 2 of our safari adventure.

Day 1: Arrival & Drive to Masai Mara
We personally travel a lot, and a couple of months ago we are experiencing an incredible Kenya safari with our children.
We arrived in Kenya for our long-awaited African safari adventure.
First stop — Nairobi traffic. Cars driving everywhere with no visible rules. Our kids quickly described it perfectly: “suggested traffic rules.” 😄
From Nairobi we began the drive toward the Masai Mara, watching the landscape slowly change as we headed deeper into the wild.
Right after entering the park, we were immediately greeted by wildlife, giraffes and a hyena, as if they were welcoming us to the Mara.
Our adventure took an unexpected turn when we reached the Mara River bridge… completely flooded. We couldn’t cross to reach our original lodge. Thankfully, our amazing business partners in Kenya quickly rearranged accommodations at another lodge.
Later we went on a nature walk along the Mara River with a park ranger. Definitely not something you want to try yourself unless you want to become lunch for a crocodile.
At one point the ranger politely asked for a tip while holding an AK-47 automatic r***e. At that moment it seemed like a very good idea to give one. 🙂
During the walk and our first game drive we spotted:
hippos, crocodiles, marabou storks, giraffes, hyenas, and antelopes.
And this was only Day 1.

🇮🇹 **Capri & Positano:** Exploring two of Italy's most beautiful coastal destinations.
🇸🇮 **Slovenia:** Full-day excursion to Ljubljana and beautiful Lake Bled.
🎶 **AzAmazing Evening:** A special evening of music and dance at Tito Square, arranged by Azamara.
🇮🇹 **Venice, September 24–26**
The vacation concluded with two nights in Venice, including a guided tour of St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace.
And of course, we took care of all the logistics: flights, cruise reservations, hotels, private transfers, excursions, and coordination for all 6 travelers.

We had our first experience with Alex and Irene at Family Travel Concierge this summer and it was amazing. We travelled to Kenya in July for a safari vacation. I found Alex as I searched for agencies that specialized in unique trip experiences including Africa safaris. Alex and the team organized every detail, including coordinating my daughters travel from Tanzania to meet us. We had 3 legs of our trip- arriving in Nairobi, traveling into Masai Mara, then to Lake Naivasha and finishing on the coast. We had absolutely no issues with any of the logistics of the trip- truly amazing.
Kenya was beautiful- we loved the country and the people. Every place we stayed was fabulous. The Mara Bush camp was a real treat. The accommodations were luxurious in the wild, and our game drives were exciting. We took a safari hot air balloon trip which was incredible- highly recommend this. At Lake Naivasha we had private accommodations at Hippo Point and had the opportunity to hike and bike ride through the animal nature conservancy- up close and personal with giraffes and zebras. We had a personal guide for the first 6 days of the trip who we really enjoyed and went out of his way to ensure we experienced all of the highlights- including seeing the Big 5. We ended the trip with a relaxing visit to Diani Beach on the coast- a perfect way wind down before our long trek back to the US.
Thank you Alex, Irene and team for this memorable, once in a lifetime vacation- we will definitely come back and have you help plan future vacations!

🌍 Family Reunion in Croatia: A Journey to Remember 🇭🇷
Last year we wrapped up an incredible 11-day family reunion in Croatia! From historic cities to serene coastal villages, every day was an adventure. Here’s a quick recap of our journey:
Day 1: Kicked off our trip in Dubrovnik, exploring the Old Town and enjoying a cozy lunch at Barba. 🏰
Day 2: Took a scenic drive through Bosnia to Montenegro, where we admired the stunning Bay of Kotor and explored the historic town. 🚗
Day 3: Visited a family-owned oyster farm in Mali Ston, tasting fresh oysters and homemade w**e. 🦪
Day 4: Relaxed at our beautiful villa in Podstrana, just five minutes from the beach. 🌊
Day 5: Enjoyed a Dalmatian BBQ prepared by a private chef at our villa, featuring authentic local dishes. 🍖
Day 6: Set sail on the Adriatic Sea, visiting Trogir, the Blue Lagoon, and picturesque islands near Split. ⛵
Day 7: Explored the ancient history of Split with a tour of Diocletian's Palace and a delicious lunch at Temple Kitchen. 🏛️
Day 8: While we relaxed at the villa, Dani, Matthew, and their aunts had an unforgettable diving trip in Omiš, exploring a shipwreck at the bottom of the bay. 🤿

Day 9: Took on the adventure of hiking to Tvrđava Fortica in Omiš, while Dani and David enjoyed zip lining. 🧗‍♂️

Day 10: On our way back to Dubrovnik, we had an amazing seafood lunch at SUTVID near Ston, where the locals eat. 🍽️
Day 11: Said farewell to Croatia with reflections on an unforgettable journey full of history, culture, and beautiful memories. ❤️

In this case, there was an issue at the resort upon arrival due to an error in their internal reservation system (which the resort acknowledged).
