Some Missouri boys had some rough conditions for bass fishing with the recent rains. We called an audible and carp fished for a few hours. It paid off nicely with two fish! We have been using some new tactics in order to read the eats and keep the flies in the zone longer. Fun stuff! Come get in on the action! Call or DM to book.

Topwater bite is getting good! Jeff hooked a slightly larger fish, around 19-21 inches, on a small seam line running off a piece of wood throwing popper-dropper rigs. After a short lived tug of war, the old wise fish won the battle as he tore back into the wood he came out of, and broke 12lb. Only 5 or so minutes later, bam! Another hard eat on a small secondary seam line off of a riffle! We knew it wasn’t quite as big but knew it was still a good one! After correcting a few mistakes from the battle just minutes earlier, Jeff landed his biggest Smallmouth. Very fun way to fish for all skill sets. We can make it as hard or as easy as you want! Mostly we will be offering 1/2 and 3/4 day trips for the topwater bite. Book a trip for July or August to get in on the fun and learn a few things!

Post spawn is right around the corner for these fellas, and it can be an awesome time of year to catch your first carp. Also a great time to target some larger fish and they start pushing out of deep water and focusing on shallow zones to feed in. These fish force you to use new or underused tactics in order to sharpen your angling skills exponentially. Fish are gettin skinny! Still a few fatties to be caught but started seeing more slim shadys this week. Darrel stuck a legit one today at 22.5” and 5.59lbs. Always a shock seeing one like this hit the bag. Eyes have been laid on a couple even bigger ones, but they don’t always make it to the net. So it is always special when you see a true giant hit the bag. Just to top it off his friend Dale caught a nice 19.75”. Book your summer days! Topwater is right around the corner as fish have already taken a few floating baitfish patterns!

These boys had some great conditions today! Had our chances at a giant or two but hard to complain about two 19s hittin the bag. Summer tactics were the key today. Warm water temps may cause an early spawn as some fish are already staging near bedding areas and/or on beds in some spots. Book your topwater days! Gunna be an epic summer.

Two hardcore smallmouth anglers who fished Canada and Michigan every year in the boat today. We got bullied around by 35 mph winds but we persevered and caught a PB at 20.5 for Dale!

Jordan and his grandpa drove 3 hours to the river this morning to fish for some bass. The river gods rewarded him for the early wake up with an almost 21” river warrior! Fishing this low clear water is crazy exciting. It’s a great way to test your skills as an angler and build new ones. Jordan fished hard and very well and it paid off! This low clear water has its own set of challenges when targeting these larger fish. However, it also allows for insane sight fishing opportunity. This 20” lad put on a show for us with a violent eat. Come get in on the action!
