Our last day in France was full of so many great things to do. We chose a bus trip to the countryside and saw the vineyards. We visited a winery to see how wine was made and ended with wine tasting. Back to the ship for lunch on the Aquavit terrace for chicken kabobs. Brenda McKethan Edge and I walked over the Rhône bridge and checked out the area stores. Then back to the ship to get ready for a cultural demonstration of painting silk scarves and of course buying one. Then the farewell by the captain and crew. It was a whirlwind day but lots of fun. We packed up and headed out for an early departure. Seven hours later we landed on good old USA soil. It was a wonderful trip. Here are a few pictures.

We had a busy day on Monday and had to pack. Luggage was out the cabin door at 3:15 am our time. We left the ship at 4:30am this morning to start our journey back. First stop Brussels Belgium, then Newark NJ then to Raleigh and then home. I will post our visit to the beautiful country side of the vineyards from Monday when I get back to the good old USA. This is our early morning leave and their beautiful airport in Lyon. Bonjour.

We were in Tournon and Vienne France today. We started out with a steam locomotive ride in the countryside and then to Vienne and visited their city. It was 113 degrees. It is the hottest on record. I picked various pictures from each location.

We visited the sweetest old town in Vivier France. Time has stood still in this quaint town. Young families are beginning to renovate these homes. The interior has all the amenities of the most modern homes but the outside can not be altered. It is exactly how I imagined old parts of France to look.
