Fennville Woman’s Club
Saving Lives:
Dear friends, I’m asking for your support, whether you live in Allegan County, or have loved ones who do, or just have a heart to help these worthy non-profits keep their residents safe.
“OnPoint and Safe Harbor Children’s Advocacy Center are Allegan County non-profit agencies serving Fennville families that have recently moved into new buildings and are in need of AED machines. *An Automated External Defibrillator is a machine that can help restore heart rhythms to normal when there is a sudden cardio arrest. It is a temporary measure until emergency medical professionals arrive on site.”
As we begin to close out our February Women's Heart Health Campaign we need your help to meet our goal of raising at least $4000 to help the above agencies purchase AEDs. We are quite a ways away from this goal.
We plan to schedule onsite visits to these two agencies in the spring and will gift them with the funds raised.
*Checks made out to Dawn Soltysiak (memo-FWC) should be dropped off (or mailed to) Root Cafe, 120 E Main Street, Fennville, MI 49408.
*If you see a local business helping with this campaign, drop a few dollars in their canister and thank them for their support. Tell your friends' circles to do the same.
*Our Fennville Women's Club was organized a year and a half ago to be an organization to specifically support women and girls in the larger Fennville area. Part of our mission was to encourage new friendships (monthly informal gatherings) and to promote programs and projects to enhance the quality of living for all Fennville residents. We welcome any women who would like to join us!
*Our first year, we mentored at risk young women seeking support as they worked toward securing their high school degrees.
*We gifted two graduates with laptops and helped them get their driving licences.
*The FWC partnered with the library to sponsor a well attended Fennville women's history exhibit.
*FWC spearheaded a community wildflower garden effort with significant help from the City of Fennville.
*We are proud that we took on the very first of the 4th Friday Fennville programs that attracted hundreds of visitors to downtown and highlighted educational activities in celebration of Earth Day. *We joined the community in raising funds for holiday food and gift baskets.
*This past February, we hosted a speaker from the American Heart Association, to present an informative program on women's heart health at Fennville District Library. *Volunteers recruited members and raised funds at community events like this past fall's Goose Festival, and our Christmas celebration.
*We have accomplished a lot in a short period of time.
Thank you in advance, for joining us in these efforts. Your donation could help save a life, and would be greatly appreciated by me!
