Otter Tail Country Tourism Association has been working hard to promote tourism in this region since 1976. Our membership is comprised of a wide range of businesses and communities. We are 2.5 hours from Minneapolis, MN and 45 minutes from Fargo, ND. Our area is made up of twenty-four charming communities sprinkled among wooded hills and crystal clear lakes. Otter Tail Country covers approximately 2,225 square miles – and over 11% of it is water. That’s 157,000 acres of water!

Our friends at Fergus Falls Fish and Game Club host an annual event every August called Woodie Camp. This is an annual, week-long outdoor youth camp for ages 13-15 where the kids learn about waterfowl, outdoors, hunting and much more!

The 2026 camp will take place on August 2-8, 2026 at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center in Fergus Falls, MN. Registration officially closed yesterday, but we were told a couple slots for boys are still open. Registration for girls is full. Reach out to Woodie Camp -Outdoor Youth Camp if you have any questions or if you want to learn about future opportunities.

We're proud to welcome the Friends of the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center as Otter Tail Lakes Country partners! Located in Fergus Falls, the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center is a one-of-a-kind environmental education center operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Visitors can explore native prairie, wetlands, trails, exhibits, and hands-on learning opportunities year-round. The Friends organization helps support these programs while also operating the Bluestem Store, a gift shop filled with nature-inspired books, gifts, and educational resources, and helping enhance the visitor experience through exhibits, events, and community programming. Stop by the prairie, browse the Bluestem Store, and let 'em know your inner otter sentchya!
