Otter Tail Country Tourism Association has been working hard to promote tourism in this region since 1976. Our membership is comprised of a wide range of businesses and communities. We are 2.5 hours from Minneapolis, MN and 45 minutes from Fargo, ND. Our area is made up of twenty-four charming communities sprinkled among wooded hills and crystal clear lakes. Otter Tail Country covers approximately 2,225 square miles – and over 11% of it is water. That’s 157,000 acres of water!

This Saturday, April 26th, is FREE PARK DAY here in Minnesota. This means you can enjoy our wonderful state parks for FREE. The really good news is we have 2 incredible state parks for you to choose from here in Otter Tail County, MN. Glendalough State Park near Battle Lake & Maplewood State Park near Pelican Rapids. This Saturday also marks the 2025 Walk for Glendalough. A special fundraiser for the park. There will be coffee starting at 9am. Walking, hiking, biking & socializing followed by a lunch with awards, recognitions & exciting park updates. All funds raised go towards projects in Glendalough State Park.

So we found an AWESOME new (to us) burger yesterday. The Cheesy Pickle Burger at Perham Lakeside Golf Course and Lakeside Tap is so nummy. It is a ground beef patty topped with pepper jack cheese, pickle infused cheese curds, drizzled with house sauce and gouda cheese sauce sittin' tall on a buttered Philly bun. You Otter try it. The fries are fantastic as well. U can also get pickle infused cheese curds as an appetizer.

Our friends at Perham Lakeside Golf Course and Lakeside Tap are open. Carts and all. This is a championship public 27 hole golf course with fully stocked Pro Shop, Driving Range, Short game range & FREE junior 4-hole course. We also found an absolutely amazing burger there. ICE OUT UPDATE: 4•16•25 Otter Tail County, MN
This might be our last ice out update of 2025, unless we stumble upon some lakes that still have ice. We checked out Rush Lake, Otter Tail Lake & West Battle Lake today. Rush & West Battle appear to be ice free. Otter Tail just had some shardy shore ice and some ice bergs floating around. Didn't make it up to Big Pine or any lakes in the NW corner of the county. If u know of a lake that is open, please feel free to comment below. Get the boats ready! It is time to hit the open water.
