Fun Fact:
The railroad bridge connecting Amelia Island to the mainland is over 100 years old and still in use today. Built in 1920, it's a rare swing bridge—the center section rotates to let boats pass through.
Proof that sometimes the old way of doing things still works just fine!

Fun fact: Baby sea turtles on Amelia Island usually hatch at night, and they instinctively head toward the brightest horizon, which should be the moonlight reflecting off the ocean.

That’s why beachfront lighting matters so much during nesting season. Even tiny hatchlings are using nature’s built-in navigation system to find the sea.

Tiny turtles. Huge journey.

Fun fact: Live oak trees on Amelia Island are famous for growing out instead of up!

Their huge horizontal branches help them stand strong against coastal winds and storms, which is why they develop those dramatic, sprawling shapes Amelia Island is known for.

This is the beautiful Oak that we have here at Riptide. Stop by and see it (and us) today!

Paddle a little farther and Amelia gets a whole lot quieter.

Our kayak tours slow things down in the best way. Paddle through peaceful marshes, slip into hidden waterways, and get close to the wildlife that calls this place home.

It’s quiet, scenic, and just enough adventure to make you forget about your phone for a while.
