She would tease her hair, grab her rhinestone magnifying glass and solve the murder, of course! 😂

Dolly is stepping into the role of detective—and she needs your help! Join us for a sparkling, sassy and delicious walking murder mystery filled with suspicious characters, outrageous motives, hidden clues and three tasty Corktown stops.

📚 EVEN BETTER: A portion of the tour proceeds will be donated to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, helping provide books to children and inspiring a lifelong love of reading!

🍖 FIRST STOP: SLOW’S BBQ

Question your first suspect while enjoying a sampler plate featuring:

💜 A LITTLE R-E-S-P-E-C-T FOR WOMEN’S EQUALITY DAY! 💜 Today, we welcomed a fantastic group from Redford Township for our RESPECT Detroit sightseeing tour—and we couldn’t imagine a more fitting way to celebrate Women’s Equality Day!

Our guests explored the incredible legacy of the Queen of Soul, viewed Aretha Franklin’s former home and discovered the powerful history of New Bethel Baptist Church. It was a day filled with music, history, inspiration and plenty of Detroit pride!

💜 WOMEN’S EQUALITY DAY SPOTLIGHT: MEET KRIS! 💜 Fair warning before you meet Kris Hoff: do not mistake the smile and humor for low intensity. 😂

Kris is an owner and one of the creative masterminds behind Distinctively Detroit Tours. She is part tour operator, promoter, producer, creative director, writer, problem solver, Detroit evangelist and cheerful troublemaker—powered by curiosity, determination and the deeply held belief that boring tours are unacceptable.

She has approximately 47 Detroit tour ideas running simultaneously. Mention an interesting piece of Motor City history, and Kris has already named the tour, mapped the route, found a lunch stop, calculated the price and drafted the Facebook post. She’s now wondering why you haven’t answered her email. 😂

Her ideas have helped create experiences exploring Detroit’s music, food, architecture, crime history, legendary personalities and fascinating neighborhoods—along with murder mysteries and behind-the-scenes adventures you won’t find anywhere else.

But for Kris, it isn’t only about creating great tours. One of the things she enjoys most is giving back to the community, supporting people and organizations doing meaningful work, and finding ways to make the world a little better. She believes a business should do more than succeed—it should make a positive difference along the way. 💜
