Do you ever have those shops where you just know you're going to come out with so many treasures for other people, but also a few for yourself? The Ginger House is one of those places, for sure.

This small but mighty shop is now in its fifth season, and every visit feels like a mini trip around the world. 🌍

So who's Ginger? She's the heart and soul behind The Ginger House, and her story is just as charming as her boutique. After 37 years in the travel industry, Ginger turned her passion for globetrotting into something magical: a curated boutique tucked into the European-style Settlement Shops of Fish Creek. Her travels with the airlines connected her with incredible artisans from all over the world, and those relationships are what make every piece in the shop feel so special.

In Ginger's own words: "It's funny how life can change, guiding us down paths that lead to a world both unknown and familiar. My travels with the airlines have connected me with incredible artisans and inspiring stories. Each encounter has enriched my journey, bringing me to this beautiful chapter. I invite you to visit and explore my unique, creative, and fun boutique!" 💛

Whether you're hunting for the perfect gift or treating yourself to something one-of-a-kind, The Ginger House delivers global beauty with serious Door County charm. Come browse, get inspired, and find a treasure (or three) to take home. ☺️

Who are these silly strangers? Well, they're the people who are about to be your new best friends after you visit The Door County Cherry Hut .

They're jumping for joy because they get to spend their days at one of Door County's most beloved roadside stops — a "must-visit" for over 70 years! And trust us, there's WAY more than meets the eye at The Hut. 🍒

Step inside and you'll find shelves stacked with pickles, jams, dressings, hot sauces, dips, and spreads. Oh, and are you a pie lover? Good, because the Hut's pies are baked daily. Did we also mention there are plenty of other treasures, like gifts from local artisans and books from local authors? If you've got a shopping itch, the Hut will scratch it.

Wine drinkers, get cozy in our wine area featuring 25+ Cherry Hut exclusive wines (with free wine tasting, of course!) If you're not a wine person, they've got something for you: a selection of hard ciders on draft and Bridge Up Brewing's Northern Door tap room for the beer lovers in the group.

Hungry? Their menu is packed with crowd-pleasers: craft hot dogs, street tacos, rib tips, loaded nachos, quesadillas, Bavarian pretzels with beer cheese, and salads.

The best part? You can take it ALL outside to the Hut's huge patio, complete with fire tables and live music throughout the season. You can even bring the whole family (and yes, that includes pets).

Art lovers, mark your calendars!

Door County Contemporary returns to Fish Creek June 4–7, transforming PenArt (formerly the Peninsula School of Art) into a hub of 26 galleries, site-specific sculpture, and curated experiences featuring artists from across the Midwest and beyond.

The inaugural art fair, held last year, drew over 3,400 attendees, which means you won't want to miss this year's event. Whether you’re looking to enhance your collection or purchase your first piece, this is Door County (and, maybe Wisconsin’s?) must-see summertime art event.

Have we mentioned how much we love this time of year, when the sun is finally shining (at least a little bit — it's been a colder-than-usual beginning to the season up here!) and so many of our seasonal businesses are back in action for the season?

One of those is Welcker’s Lounge on Main Street in Fish Creek. They're officially open for the season, which means it's time to head over there for a expertly-mixed craft cocktail with a side of Prohibition-era swankiness.

Head to their website (linked in our bio) for their menu, open hours, and more: https://www.welckers.com/

We can now say it's summer. Not officially, of course, as we still have a few weeks—but one of the big signals for us here in Fish Creek is the return of the weekly Farmers' Market at The Settlement Shops, and the first day of the 2026 market season is...today!

What will you find at the Farmer's Market? Fresh and locally-grown produce, art and work by talented craftspeople, plenty of goodies to take home (or eat on the car ride home), and plenty of food to eat while you're there, too.

The market happens every Wednesday from 9:30 am to 1:30 throughout the summer and fall. For more information, be sure to check out their page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100070099164976
