Yesterday was Twinning Thursday at orientation. 👯 Our instructors spent their day learning about their secondary responsibilities, covering food, gear, community, first aid, and vans. Aloha day 4 of orientation! 🌺 Lessons were all about what it means to be an AT instructor, from building community and bringing the WOW to every trip, to capturing the best photos and videos along the way.

We also did the beloved pre-backpack “show me what you got,” where groups tested their packing skills ahead of their staff-led backpacks. The night wrapped with another fun evening meeting and an instructor talent show that did not disappoint. . . . . .

Day 3 of orientation was all about safety, because if you know AT, you know our favorite three words: SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY‼️ We dove into risk management and student policies, plus hands-on workshops covering patient assessment, packing an instructor first aid kit (IFAK), epinephrine administration, wilderness foot care, and CPR.

đź”” Fun fact: AT instructors hold a wilderness first responder (WFR) certification, so our trips can run safely and smoothly all summer long.

In between, game breaks and shared meals brought their usual laughter and energy, deepening the bonds forming these past few days. . . . . .
