✨ 20 years ago, this sweet couple spent their honeymoon at the New River Escape French Country Loft. They’ve dreamed of returning ever since — and recently, they found us online!

We were so thrilled to welcome them back for several days of relaxation, reflection, and reliving the memories of where their life together began.

We’ve been a bit quiet lately, but we are THRILLED to finally give you an update on life here in the New River. Our beloved flooring is HOME!!! 🎉 The amazing Ken Sevensky at Gum Ridge Mill & Flying Pig Furniture went above and beyond with his exceptional care and hand-delivered these 1880s heart pine floors back to us today. From the kiln to our kitchen in just 3 hours—now that’s some serious service! 🙌

Next up: Travis and the crew from Hometown Flooring & More are getting ready to relay them back exactly where they were originally placed less than two years ago. It’s been a journey, and we’re beyond grateful for all the incredible people who made this possible.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped— Diane Sprague, Tracy Ward Tilley, Bev Hoffman, Stephanie Rice Burch, Carolyn Bledsoe, and of course, the entire Sevensky family (literally) Kristin Hatcher Sevensky for giving these floors new life and so much joy for the next chapter.

Our story

The New River Escape grew from a dream to live on a river and own a guest house. After raising children and cooking breakfast for years we knew that we didn’t want to have a traditional B&B. In August 2017, the dream came true on the historic and wild South Fork of the New River. We found the perfect place...on the river, an old farm house to live in, lofts with self-catering kitchens for guests and lots of room to enjoy nature. We are excited to share our dream with you, your family and friends.

As avid travelers and citizens of the world, we open our doors to all people of the world. We love meeting new people and learning about their adventures. Whether relaxing on the gazebo, sitting by the river or chilling out around a bonfire, we look forward to sharing stories and fun times in this beautiful corner of the world.
