🌳 – The Story of Lynches River County Park

What began in 1972 as a quiet 676-acre state park has grown into one of Florence County’s most beloved outdoor escapes. Originally managed by the state, the park featured rustic trails, primitive campsites, and a community building. In 1999, Florence County took over operations—and the transformation began. 🚧

Over the years, Lynches River County Park blossomed with:
✅ Renovated rental spaces
🛶 A handicap-accessible canoe launch
🌊 A riverside boardwalk and splash pad
⛺️ Upgraded campsites and cabins
📚 Outdoor education stations
🚶‍♂️ Expanded trails through the woods and wetlands
💦 A new splash pad reopened this summer

But the biggest leap came in 2008 with the opening of the Environmental Discovery Center—a LEED-certified, to***co barn–inspired building focused on conservation education. Since then, over 270,000 visitors have stepped through its doors!

🥏 Two disc golf courses
