Your destination wedding guest list isn’t the problem. It’s what happens AFTER
everyone says yes. 👀
Because “We’re coming!” is rarely the end of the conversation.
It’s usually the beginning of this:

✈️ “I found a better flight. Can I come a day earlier?”
🏨 “We decided to stay two extra nights!”
👯 “My roommate can’t come anymore...”
️ “Can we change our room?”
💳 “Wait... when is my final payment due?”
One guest changing their plans? No big deal.
Now multiply it by 50+ guests. 😅

THIS is where having a destination wedding travel specialist starts making a whole
lot of sense.

What nobody explains about that “Book By” date on your destination wedding
website... 👀
Nope. I didn’t pull it out of a hat. 🎩😂
When I’m managing a destination wedding room block, I look at the deadlines
inside the group contract — and work backward.
Because that simple little:
“Please reserve your room by June 15.”..has a LOT happening behind it.
I’m looking at things like:
✔️ Room reduction deadlines
✔️ Payment deadlines
✔️ Contract requirements
✔️ Room inventory

✔️ Guest booking progress
✔️ How much breathing room we need BEFORE those deadlines hit
Because if an important destination wedding room block deadline is coming up, I
don’t want 20 guests still debating ocean view vs. garden view the night before. 😅

Your guests see:
“Book by June 15.”
I see:
Every moving piece that makes June 15 the right date for your destination wedding
group.
And THAT is the difference between simply reserving a bunch of hotel rooms.....and actually managing a destination wedding room block.

What nobody explains about booking a destination wedding room block... 👀
Finding the resort and signing the room block contract?
That’s not the finish line.
That’s where the real destination wedding room block management starts. 😅
Because once that contract is signed, there are a LOT of moving pieces happening
behind the scenes:
✔️ Contract deadlines
✔️ Room inventory
✔️ Guest booking progress
✔️ Payment deadlines
✔️ Final balances
✔️ Dates for reducing or releasing rooms
✔️ And yes... the guests who still haven’t booked 👀
Because every destination wedding group seems to have that one person who waits
until the VERY last minute.
Suspiciously often, it’s the best man. 😂
And this is exactly why my couples don’t just hire me to help them find a
destination wedding resort.
I help manage what happens after the resort is booked, too.

Because you shouldn’t be spending the months before your wedding chasing
guests, checking room inventory, or wondering if you missed an important

Most couples get destination wedding room blocks wrong...and honestly, I get
why. 😅
“Room block” sounds like you’re reserving a giant pile of hotel rooms and hoping
everyone shows up.
But that’s not really the point.
A destination wedding room block is part of the group travel strategy behind your
wedding.
It helps you think through things like:
🌴 How many rooms your group may need
️ Which room categories make sense

📅 Booking deadlines
✈️ How guests will reserve
📊 How room inventory and bookings are managed
And here’s another big misconception:
A room “block” doesn’t necessarily mean your entire wedding group will physically
be staying side-by-side in one section of the resort.
It’s about room inventory.
The exact rates, requirements and terms can also vary depending on the resort and
group agreement, which is why this isn't something I recommend guessing your way
through.

Your destination wedding isn't only a wedding.
It's a group trip with a wedding in the middle of it. 💍✈️
And when the travel side is organized well, the experience can feel much easier for
you AND your guests.
