Donald “Donny” Lucas remembers watching his father walk around with a stick in his hands as a six-year-old in the late 1950s. He was dowsing, or "water witching," using what is referred to as "The Gift" — a rare talent of being able to find groundwater from the surface.

A chill is in the air… October is not yet here but it’s getting closer! The 2025 Floyd Ghost tour will be starting on the first weekend of October, Friday Oct. 3rd and Saturday, Oct. 4th, 2025 at 7 PM & 8 PM.

Regularly scheduled tours take place during October in 2025 on Friday & Saturday nights, meeting at the Artisan's/Farmer's Market Pavilion on 203 S. Locust St. Floyd, VA at 6PM, 7PM & 8PM. Still only $15 per person. Masks are required during times of COVID surges. (At Halloween young maidens would go into a dark room at midnight and illuminate a mirror with only a single candle. They would gaze into a mirror and see who their future lover might be or see images of those who had passed on.)
