Attention all bicyclists! New tools have been added to the two existing bike repair stations, one located in the Town of Floyd parking lot across from Warren G. Lineberry Park and the other at Tuggle’s Gap Roadside Inn. Two new repair stations have also been added at Crooked Mountain and Floyd/Blue Ridge KOA, giving cyclists more places to make quick repairs while exploring the area.

The bike repair stations are designed for easy, on-the-go repairs and adjustments. If your bike needs a little more attention, check out Ups and Downs Bike Shop, a full-service bike shop located at 209 West Main Street.

The bike repair stations and new tools were made possible through a grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation.

Join local makers, artists, and small businesses at the next Floyd Makers Market on Saturday, October 17th, from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Located on Jacksonville Circle, between the Floyd County Courthouse and the Floyd County Administration Building, the market is a great place to shop local, meet talented makers, and enjoy a day in Floyd.

While you’re in town, be sure to visit the Floyd Farmers Market and explore the many other events and local businesses throughout the community.

The Floyd Ghost Tour is back with spooky tales, history, and stories of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This one-hour walking tour will take you through a cemetery and around the Town of Floyd. Get ready to be scared, laugh, and learn with ghost stories, legends, and fascinating historical facts.

Tours take place at 6 PM, 7 PM, and 8 PM on Friday and Saturday nights in October (no tours on Halloween) and during the first weekend of November. All tours leave from the Community Pavilion at 203 S. Locust Street in Floyd, VA. Cost is $15 per person, rain or shine.

Looking for a Halloween adventure in Floyd, VA? Vikingland’s Night of the Draugrs opens this Friday, October 9th, at Vikingland Park in Copper Hill! The haunted walking tour is approximately 20 minutes and takes visitors through the 9 Realms of Norse Cosmology, where Norse mythology comes to life around every turn.

Travel through mysterious realms and encounter legendary creatures, including Garmr, the fearsome guardian of Hel; Surtr, the fire giant; Nidhogg, the dragon; and towering Frost Giants. Along the way, watch for wights and draugrs lurking in the shadows!

⚠️ Rated PG-13. All ages are welcome with adult supervision, but some scenes may be too scary for younger children.

Looking for a spot to sell your handmade goods, art, gifts, or holiday treats this season? Vendor applications are now being accepted for three holiday artisan markets!

• November 28th from 9 AM to 1 PM - Shop Small Saturday Market - Kick off the holiday shopping season with local makers and small businesses.

• December 5th from 2 PM to 7 PM - Floyd County Christmas Parade Market - The market will take place alongside the Floyd County Christmas Parade, which starts at 5 PM. Come set up for an evening of holiday shopping, music, and parade festivities.

• December 19th from 9 AM to 1 PM - Last Minute Holiday Market - A final chance for shoppers to pick up those last-minute gifts and holiday goodies!

All markets will be held outdoors on Jacksonville Circle (the road between the Floyd County Courthouse and the Floyd County Administration Building.) Vendor fee is $25 per market for a 10x10 space or $60 if you sign up for all three.

Whether you make art, crafts, specialty foods, gifts, or other handmade goods, we’d love to have you apply.

Tourism continues to make an impact in Floyd! In 2025, visitors spent a record $19.9 million directly in Floyd County, an 8.7% increase over 2024.

That visitor spending supported approximately 132 local jobs and generated about $800,000 in local tax revenue. These numbers reflect the strength of Floyd’s local tourism businesses and the important role tourism plays in our community.

Thank you to the local businesses, organizations, and people who continue to make Floyd a place visitors want to experience!
