A few photos from my October North Carolina Gypsy Vanner Fall Color workshop. An incredible opportunity held during prime fall color in late October 2024, with a fabulous Gypsy Vanner (Cob) breeder. For me I have been taken with the Gypsy Vanner breed because of their super sweet nature and the ability to interact with them so intimately.

Each experience brings something unique and fabulous…..what can be more lovely than rolling hills, fall color, and Gypsy Vanner horses of all colors. And lots of foals!

Ultimately it is as much about the experience and memories as it is about tremendous photos – a workshop that captured it all!

Another image from our 2024 Oregon Gypsy Vanner photo tour.

Yep, this is a quarter horse. . I created this image for the barn manager at the farm location we were at, and who owns this horse.

She is older with severe arthritis, only able to trail ride on her good days. I wanted to create something powerful showing her beautiful lines and accent her muscles along with showing her as the strong horse she once was.

Here is a before and after..... some images just touch our heart.

What a nice surprise this morning after being at the PPofMI Fall Retreat in Bay City (which was amazing).

The GDCCC (Greater Detroit Camera Club Council) consists of 11 photographic member clubs in the greater metropolitan Detroit area including two in Windsor, Ontario, one in Toledo. Our council has been in existence for over 80 years held one of their Digital Competitions.

Pleasantly surprised to have placed 1st in the Salon Competition Level for Monochrome, and 2nd in the Salon Competition Level for Nature.

The images represent special moments for me as well.

A couple quick photos from Last Saturday's workshop I held, where we visited the First Congregational Church of Detroit established on December 25, 1844. The church came to its present site in 1891. Today, the beautiful historic structure with Romanesque and Byzantine architecture remains a vibrant church community.

In addition to a fantastic "Living museum" activity, we gained permission to photograph this church. And this experience did not disappoint.

The pastor and volunteers at the church were so welcoming and kind; they are a testament of what they believe in. The church motto is: "You may not belong to this church, but this church belongs to You".

Highly recommend anyone make their reservations for this 'Living Museum experience.' Lunch is available at an extra cost. A great family experience.

This seems such a long time ago now, and yet just yesterday.

June 2024 Oregon photographing Gypsy Vanner horse Photo Tour led by myself and Kelly Dobson. Memories for a lifetime with such a wonderful group of people. The farm owner welcomed us with open arms and made her home, our home.

The photographic opportunities were endless over the two days - stallions and mares with foals, 20+ horses, running free in pastures and fields with wild flowers, in an arena with view of Mount Hood, portraits in the barn door area, and to wrap up the experience we headed to Canon Beach to photograph horses on the beach! And the "icing on the cake" - the engaging personality of the horse breed was soothing and calming.

A couple pictures from Historic Trinity Church in Detroit on Thursday. This third church features a building constructed of vari-colored granite and Indiana limestone, with slate roof and floor, oak woodwork and stained glass. Its style is 16th Century Pier-and-Clerestory Gothic, similar to that seen only in the great cathedrals of Europe.

The carved wooden details were breathtaking. If you missed this one, more coming soon.. hope to see you at the next one.

Back to the sunflower field for a very peaceful morning. Indigo bunting sighting - a bucket list item and several years of attempting. The yellow finches are always pretty too.

Fall Color Photoshoot

October 24th - Fall colors, select locations.

Includes 3-hour post processing session after everyone has returned home
