Key to the World Card
When you arrive at your Walt Disney World resort and check-in at the front desk, your entire travel party will be given a Key to World Card to help you experience all the magic that Disney has to offer. You can choose a design featuring the classic Disney characters Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto. Each guest in your party can have their own card.
The question is, what is a Key the World Card and how does it work?

What is a Key to the World Card?

It is a plastic RFID card, similar in size and shape to a credit card. While staying at Disney World it will be your room key and your park ticket.
It can also be used to charge items to your room if you have a Credit Card saved to your My Disney Experience account and can be scanned by a Cast Member when getting your picture taken.
Does each member of my travel party need a card?
Yes, everyone in your travel party will need their own card since it is encoded with park admission information. Grownups can hold onto the card for younger children.

Can I use a MagicBand instead?

They serve the same purpose and have the same features, so you can use a MagicBand instead of a Key to the World card. You have to have one or the other, but you don’t need both.
Is a MagicBand better than a Key to the World Card?
It really comes down to personal preference. There are pros and cons to both options. A Key to the World Card is free, but you have to keep track of it. A MagicBand is conveniently wearable, but they cost.
