150 years ago, the Morris Island Lighthouse shone for the very first time. 💡🌊

On October 1, 1876, the light was officially exhibited from the newly completed tower, marking the beginning of a legacy that has guided mariners and become an enduring part of the Lowcountry landscape.

This October, we’re honoring that history by lighting the lighthouse on three special nights from 7–10 PM:

💡 October 1 | 150 years to the day since the first lighting
💡 October 17 | Anniversary Weekend
💡 October 18 | 150th Anniversary Celebration

When the lighthouse first illuminated the coast, it featured a first-order Fresnel lens with a fixed white light visible for nearly 19 nautical miles in clear weather. A century and a half later, we’re proud to see this historic landmark shine once again.

🏴‍☠️🎣 The boys showed up ready to fish… and they did NOT disappoint!

A boat full of happy kids, a whole lot of fish, and plenty of memories made on the water. 🐟☀️

Isn’t it funny how we go to the water when we feel like we’re drowning on land? 🌊

Maybe it’s the salt in the air.

Or maybe it’s just the reminder that life is meant to be lived a little more freely.

What do YOU want to be when you grow up?
For the longest time, I thought the answer had to be a job title. Teacher. Doctor. Lawyer. Athlete. Entrepreneur. Something impressive….

But now, if my kids ask me that question, I hope they know there’s another answer…

I want to be free.
I want to be calm.
I want to be adventurous.
I want to be loving.
I want to be creative.
I want to be motivated.

I want to raise kids who chase experiences, love deeply, care for others, and live a life that feels truly theirs on God footsteps. ❤️

Maybe WHO we become matters a whole lot more than WHAT we become. ✨

🏴‍☠️James Island, Johns Island & downtown Charleston peeps! 🏴‍☠️

One of our car magnets has gone missing either yesterday (on James Island John’s island) or today (on James island or downtown)...

Not sure if it flew off the car or someone ‘borrowed’ it BUT we are looking for it & would love to have it back if you find it! (& We definitely don’t want to litter if it’s laying on the ground somewhere! 😉)
