The calm-looking water isn’t always the safe spot.
If you see a darker gap where waves aren’t breaking, that can be a rip current pulling water back out to sea.

Watch for:
🌊 Gaps in the waves
🌊 Darker water
🌊 Choppy or swirling surface water
🌊 Foam or seaweed moving offshore

If caught in one:
➡️ Stay calm
➡️ Don’t swim straight against it
➡️ Swim PARALLEL to shore until you’re out of the current

Folly’s sandbars shift constantly, so conditions can change quickly with the tides. Swim near lifeguards, keep a close eye on kids, and respect the ocean — even experienced swimmers can get into trouble.

🌊 A little love for the island goes a long way.

Join the community for Toby’s Earth Month Island-Wide Spring Sweep on Sunday, April 12 from 2–4 PM. Volunteers will gather at cleanup stations around Folly to help keep our beaches, marshes, and streets beautiful.

It’s an easy, meaningful way to give back while soaking in that laid-back Folly vibe we all love.

After the cleanup, everyone heads to Lowlife (106 E. Hudson) from 4–6 PM for the afterparty with half-off appetizers, specialty drinks, and good island company.

If you’re on Folly that weekend — guests, locals, and visitors — we’d love to see you out there.
