Restoration process on Loyd Price's Madshus Birkebeiner wooden skis. The edges and cracks have been glued and the first coats of boiled linseed oil have been applied. Last photo shows how they looked before

Loyd Price was the Director of the Yosemite Mountaineering School in the 70's and was a proficient skier and climber. He was also a expert hang glider/plane pilot and fly fisherman. He flew Bruce Brossman and myself over to Lee Vining and then we skied back to the valley in 1 day. I also helped him launch his Kiceniuk Icarus I glider off Mt Bullion, it was amazing.
