WANDERLUST WEDNESDAY: Paris in Spring. How much fun did I have planning a food and fashion tour of this lovely city for a client celebrating her birthday and her first adventure outside the U.S? We arranged an evening lift up the Eiffel Tower, followed by a cruise on the Seine, a tour of The House of Dior, a private shopping spree through the fashion capital, a private photo shoot with the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop, a workshop where she created her own personal perfume, and an evening visit to Paris' vibrant Latin Quarter, where she picked out fresh ingredients for her traditional French cuisine cooking class. We reserved some Michelin starred restaurants for good measure. Ooh, la la!

Fares may be low, but if you have to pay additional for seat assignments, checked bags and meals, you sometimes end up paying more than a major carrier. They often have more carry-on restrictions, and fewer backup options, should your flight get cancelled.
