Making the most of the warm weather and lack of snow. We have had some excellent days on rock… like this off season multi-pitch climbing class a few weeks ago. Participants had a solid sport climbing skill set and we helped them begin to apply it in multi-pitch terrain. Pleasant temperatures made learning skills and climbing in the sun a joy!

Winter is almost here! And with it comes some incredible opportunities to explore. The snow is just starting to accumulate and we are eager to strap on our snowshoes and go! The hiking is already good and the lakes are frozen but we still have a few more weeks before we really need the snowshoes.

Check us out if you want explore deeper this winter!

Ski areas are open but we are still rock climbing! Crowds on one or two icy ski runs or 65 degrees on beautiful sun-kissed rock?… I bet you can guess our preference. Go with conditions not the calendar! There will be plenty of snow to slide on by February… we hope!

Well we got a little behind on our instagram posting… but that’s because we were spending a lot of time out climbing with some incredible people this fall!

Here is an absolutely lovely day in September in Eldorado climbing the route Ruper.

Today might be rainy but the Fall has been soooo good so far! We spent 3 excellent days in the Flatirons with Kevin working on scrambling and climbing a skills in preparation for some harder 14ers next year. Our focus was on practicing practical skills like movement, route finding and hazard assessment in real time as we flowed around our epic outdoor classroom.

We are looking forward to more lovely days on the rock this fall! Hope to see you out there!

Great days out in Eldorado Canyon! Fall is here and the weather has been wonderful. This was this gentleman’s first multi-pitch climb ever on the classic route Rewritten (5.7, 6 pitches) and he crushed it!

Well folks it’s finally here. You have been waiting for it, honing your skills, braving hot temps and sub ideal friction, questing far into the alpine or perfectly positioning that gym fan to keep things reasonable. You have invested in chalk, sweat and possibly tears. But no more, your wait is soon to be rewarded.

SENDtember is here. Go and get it friends.

Shots from Tajikistan.

Sojourner hit a milestone this August running our first international expedition in the Fann Mountains of Tajikistan. The goal was to climb the 17,000’ Peak Bolshaya (Big) Ganza.

The team made it up to just above 13,000’ on the zholty (yellow) glacier where they encountered a steep section of glacier with persistent rockfall consisting of bowling ball to refrigerator size boulders hurtling down the mountain.

With warm temperatures and this slope being the only possible path forward the difficult decision was made to back off the mountain.

With a few days remaining the team pivoted and moved to the nearby Aludin Valley which is known for its spectacularly blue glacially fed lakes. From here they tagged the 13,000’ summit of Ceverny (Northern) Peak.

The mountains of Tajikistan are as rugged and steep as the people are warm and welcoming. While this year our intended summit remained elusive, it has left us eager to return test ourselves again against this challenging but incredible landscape.

We had an incredible expedition team who were a pleasure to share the mountain with. Special thanks to for their logistical support!

We are already working on plans for what’s coming next so stay tuned in and perhaps we will be climbing Tajikistan next year with YOU!
