To my FB Friends, Family, and Foes: I usually don’t speak or say much about things but my heart is heavy and I feel that this has to be said: If you have anything negative to say, please keep it to yourself. Feel free to repost this if you deem it worth it.
I stand before you today with a heavy heart, deeply concerned, worried, and in fear of what’s to come. The signs are all around us, and the truth cannot be ignored: our democracy is in grave danger. The deficit of trust in our institutions, the erosion of our freedoms, and the specter of dictatorship loom large over our nation.
Let us speak plainly about what a dictatorship means for our democracy. A dictator in office means the end of the rule of law, the suppression of free speech, and the elimination of our most basic rights. It means living in a society where dissent is not tolerated, where the government has unchecked power, and where fear and oppression become the norm. Under a dictatorship, the democratic process is dismantled, elections are manipulated, and the voices of the people are silenced.
No matter your race, s*x, or background, we all stand to lose under a dictatorship. Our individual freedoms, our right to speak our minds, our right to assemble, and our right to a fair and just society—all these will be stripped away. This is not a distant possibility; it is a very real threat that we must confront with all the urgency it demands.
In times like these, it is imperative that we put aside our political views and affiliations. Our common humanity and shared values must come to the forefront. We must unite to fight for our democracy, for our human rights, and for the fundamental right of women to make choices about their own bodies. This is about the future of our children and the kind of world they will inherit.
I urge you to recognize the gravity of this moment. We cannot afford to be complacent or divided. The fight for democracy is not about left or right; it is about right and wrong. It is about ensuring that our children grow up in a country where their voices matter, where their rights are protected, and where their potential is not limited by the whims of a dictator.
Let us stand together, as one people, united in our resolve to defend our democracy. Let us raise our voices in unison, demanding justice, freedom, and the preservation of our rights. We owe it to ourselves, to our children, and to the generations that will follow to fight with every ounce of our strength.
When it’s YOUR time to exercise your FREE RIGHT, think about our democracy, our rights, and our future. It all depends on our collective actions. Now is the time to come together, to fight for what is right, and to ensure that our nation remains a beacon of freedom and justice for all.
