Pixie and Pirate Destinations, LLC - Lisa Reese [email protected] ~ Let me help you plan a Magical Vacation! I have made countless trips to visit the Mouse both on Land and Sea.

My name is Lisa and I am a Vacation Planner who holds a special place in my heart for all things Disney. I am a Vacation Planner for Pixie and Pirate Destinations, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. I frequently travel to various Disney destinations to further my knowledge and share the information with you (oh yeah and to have lots of fun too!). I have been helping clients enjoy Magical Vacat

ions since 2007. I like to consider myself a Vacation Planner as opposed to a Travel Agent. I will go above and beyond to help customize your trip, making each and every visit a once in a lifetime vacation. I love working with you to create personalized touring plans. Some of the services I provide include booking your dining reservations, booking excursions and helping you plan special "extras". I realize the importance of a flexible itinerary and I was helping friends and family enjoy the Magic long before I became an "Official" Dream Vacation Planner. My favorite part of being a Vacation Planner is getting to provide "Service with Pixie Dust" and to make my clients' trips as magical as they can be!!!

Where is your favorite place to beat the heat?

Let’s face it, the heat that you may find when you are at Walt Disney World is nothing to joke about! This is why it’s important to use everything at your disposal to make your day run smooth and cool.

The average “feels like” temperature in the Disney World area in the summer is between 100 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit. There are quite a few tools you have at your disposal to stay cool – free ice water, cooling towels, handheld fans, and swimming pools! But there is one more very important trick you should know about.

When planning your Disney park itinerary, it’s important to know where the air conditioned attractions are so you can optimize them in the heat of day! In this post we are going to tell you what the air conditioned attractions are in each park and the duration of each in order to help your planning. Let’s go get cool!

Last night I had a mini photo shoot while I waited for the park to clear out some. The photographers were out until about 11pm and I visited 4 different ones within about 20 minutes. It's a great way to give the bus crowds time to dissipate. When I got to my bus stop (at the very end of the bus corral) I waited no more then 4 or 5 minutes for a bus and everyone waiting got a seat! It was perfect.

I checked into Port Orleans French Quarter late late last night. Thankfully Disney had assigned my room in the afternoon and upon arrival all I had to do was head to my room and use my Magic Band to enter! I was showered and in bed in 30 minutes after arrival. Easy Peasy!

This morning I went to explore the resort a little and ran into some friends! Such a pretty resort!

I am back in the room working and trying to decide what to do this afternoon. I can go to Disney Springs, I can swim, I can keep working or I can nap! I have a Birthday Party to attend tonight so I want to be well rested! Hmm.....

Just curious… when returning from travel what is your luggage protocol?

Some people leave it in the garage for a few days in case of bed bugs, some wipe it down and disinfect, some never even unpack.

I come home and leave it in the living room, in a few days I usually take the dirty clothes to the laundry room and I will then live out of it (picking out all of the clean underware I took on vacation and never wore) for days and days. After a few weeks if I don't pack it up again for another trip I toss it in the basement. LOL

What about you?

By the way ... this is the luggage I have and LOVE! I can not recommend it enough.

Pack it up, snap it down and hit the ground rolling! the bold by Travelpro 26" spinner is the tough-built, lightweight checked bag you've been seeking. Perfect for medium and longer adventures, this workhorse also includes a 2" zippered expansion option to boost packability. Organization features...

From This Day in Disney History

April 17, 2012:

Beginning on this day in Florida, Orange Bird returns to Sunshine Tree Terrace signage and quirky drink cups in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park, Walt Disney World.

Orange Bird was a character who was developed back in 1970. Walt Disney Productions entered into negotiations with the Florida Citrus Commission for an FCC-sponsored Walt Disney World attraction early in 1967. A contract was signed in October 1969, formalizing the FCC's underwriting of a "tropical bird show" at a cost of $3 million. The following year WED Enterprises created the Orange Bird character to serve as the FCC's official mascot in promotional campaigns.

The Orange Bird also appeared in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom as a walk-around character during the resort's first decade. He would often be found walking throughout Adventureland, outside the Enchanted Tiki Room and the Sunshine Tree Terrace (a quick-service location).

Today, the Sunshine Tree Terrace is still the home of Orange Bird and of course the popular Orange Dole Whip - a creamy citrus soft-serve treat since 1984. The Orange Dole Whip is no where near as good as the Citrus Swirl!!!
