The Tri-State Rodeo Parade is next Saturday, September 12 starting at 9:30am. Then join us for the Post Rodeo Parade River Cruise at the Fort Madison Marina! ⚓

Cut Bank Adventures is offering a 45-minute Mississippi River cruise for $25 per person. SEPTEMBER IS FORT MADISON HERITAGE MONTH

Fort Madison has always been a place where history is part of everyday life, and this September, we’re celebrating it!

The City of Fort Madison, Iowa has officially declared September Fort Madison Heritage Month, recognizing the stories, traditions and people that have shaped our community.

From the Mississippi River that has connected us to the world, to the Old Fort that tells the story of our frontier beginnings… from our incredible railroad heritage to traditions that continue year after year through the Tri-State Rodeo and Mexican Fiesta, our heritage is woven into who we are.

And behind it all are the historical organizations, preservation groups, museums, volunteers and community members who work to protect these stories and pass them on to the next generation.

This is more than looking back. It’s knowing where we came from and celebrating what makes Fort Madison unlike anywhere else.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover a new business opened this morning in downtown Fort Madison!

Welcome to The Landing- Fort Madison , a health and wellness shop located at 902 Avenue G. They offer 24 flavors of protein drinks, energizing teas, protein coffee and aloe shots.

I tried the Banana Caramel protein shake in the kid’s size and it was delicious! And for those of you counting your macros like I am, this one had 16 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber and only 145 calories!

Stop in, give them a try, and show them some love.

Fort Madison Farmer's Market is today from 4-6pm just outside of our office! The weather is so nice that we opened the Historic Santa Fe Baggage Room doors. After getting your items from the market, stop in and check out the North Lee County Historical Society's 1873 Silsby Fire Pumper and other exhibits.
