This beautiful park is a large barrier island off the coast of Florida, known for its pristine beaches, excellent shelling, and being accessible primarily by boat or ferry. It's a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy nature, just like she's doing! Happy Birthday Michelle 🍰 We normally don't visit this island but today was a special 6hr Birthday Trip!

🌿 Learning Along the Shore with First Mate Finn! 🌊🐚
One of Finn’s favorite things is helping our guests slow down and notice all the amazing little treasures growing right beneath their feet.
While exploring our beautiful barrier islands, Finn loves teaching guests about the coastal dune system and the important plants that help these sandy shorelines thrive. One you might spot is Sea Purslane! 🌱
✨ Fun Fact: Sea purslane is actually edible! Its fleshy leaves have a naturally salty flavor, thanks to its ability to thrive in coastal environments where salt spray and sandy soil would be tough on many other plants.
But these little plants are more than just interesting to find. Coastal vegetation helps stabilize sand, reduce erosion, and create habitat for wildlife. 💙
Sometimes the best classroom doesn’t have four walls... it has salty air, sandy feet, and a curious First Mate leading the way. ☀️🌊

🌊 You never know what cool creatures you will find on our Private Tours 🐚
This is a live Moon Snail (also called a Sharks Eye) . They are named for the half-moon shape of the aperture on the underside of their round shells.
As you see here in this video they have a huge, muscular foot which is seen coming out of its shell on my hand. It can pump water inside its "foot" to make it grow up to four times bigger than its shell! This giant foot helps them glide and plow through the sand. A cool fact about Sharks Eyes is they have two little tentacles on their heads that act like a nose to help them smell their favorite food hidden underground!

Homeschool looks a little different out here! 🌊🐚☀️

Our Backwater Discovery Field Trips take learning OFF the page and onto the sandbars of beautiful Estero Bay! 🐬

Students get to explore, discover marine life, hunt for shells, splash through the shallows using our Waydoo Subnado underwater scooter and experience hands-on marine science… all while making new friends and salty memories. 💦🤿

Small groups • Ages 10+ • 3-hour adventures
🎓 Step Up For Students Direct Pay Provider
🗓️ Friday Sept 11th or Friday Sept 25th
We will also be offering Field Trips
🗓️ Monday October 12th or Monday Oct 26th.
