Day 2- London
Yesterday’ journey in London was spectacular!
Our first stop- Charles Dickens Museum.
In a nutshell, we could say “it was the best of times, it was the worst of times”… I take that back. There was no worst part about it. It was actually a pretty interesting museum to view several artifacts from the early days of Charles Dickens and the trinkets that were displayed in his home. I forget how lucky we are to have all the modern conveniences of life. There are a couple of items I would never want to go back to regarding cooking or cleaning specifically laundry. How they did laundry back then and to make their clothes so clean— was amazing.
The second stop was the British Museum. Initially, I guess my silly head forgot that we had visited this once before however, it was like I have seen it for the first time once again. One highlight of the British Museum is their 360* Round library and the Rosetta Stone.
We capped off the day by a visit to Chinatown. Now, if you’re in New Yorker, you know that the NYC Chinatown is full of a wonderful array of various Asian restaurants. London’s Chinese restaurants, rivals, if not surpasses the variety of Asian food offered in NYC. All in all - it was a yummy way to end the day.
After leaving Florida at on Saturday, August, 29 at 6:30 AM on flying to JFK then catching an 8:15 evening flight on August 29 arriving in London Heathrow at 8:30 am on Sunday, August 30, we were quite tired that evening. We called it an early night!
Happy to be in London!
