One thing I've learned about life is as soon as I think I've got things figured out I realize I don't. The 2025 booking season everyone was booking just few weeks in advance. Here we are in AUGUST of 2025 and we've already got 10 reservations for spring and summer break 2026. I have NO idea why things are booking so differently, but they sure are. Several of these are guests who have stayed with us in the past, taking advantage of their returning discount. My point being if you have particular dates you need, or if you want to book both units now is definitely the time to start thinking about it. We are booking 2026 with just a $250 deposit until January. Feel free to reach out with questions or for a quote!

A mother looks at 40
(And a love letter to my 30s)

You know when you're a child and you think about 40 it seems like another lifetime away? That's because it is. I feel like I've lived a hundred lives in these 40 years. A few bitter but, mostly so very sweet.

My 30s have absolutely been the best decade of my life. It took until my 4th decade to really have the courage to do things my own way and that has changed everything. It was in my 30s that I found some of the best people in the world, and birthed a couple too!

Here a sit, a couple hours away from 40. Half my life behind me, and another half of my life ahead of me (if I'm lucky) I'm so excited to see what this next decade has in store for me. I am lucky beyond words to have the people I have around me and this life I get to lead every day.

So right now I say hello 40, we're about to have some fun. I'm glad you all are along for the ride.

McGuires, just over the bridge in Destin, is absolutely one of our favorite restaurants in the area. The atmosphere is so unique and fun! Don't forget to bring a dollar to sign and hang on the wall to look for on your next trip. They have $10.99 weekday lunch specials, an appetizer sampler that could feed a small army, delicious steaks, craft beer, "famous" bean soup, and so much more. Plan to go early, or plan for a wait during busy season, but WELL worth the wait!

I happened to notice this milestone a couple days ago on our Nashville home. 400 reviews. It feels surreal to know this is where it all started just over 5 years ago. It feels amazing to know how many THOUSANDS of guests have trusted us with their vacation memories across now FIVE properties. Thank you. Can't wait to see what the next 5 years and 400 more reviews will bring 🩵

17 years later. It feels like a lifetime, it feels like a minute. Happy 17 years to us. I could have never imagined on that day we'd end up where we are.

For 2 weeks Bentley has been asking to "dress up in our fanciest dresses and go have a fancy dinner" that is exactly what we did!

It's that time where I start thinking about updates and upgrades. This year A417 deserves some love since last year was all about A424! My thought is upgrading the second master from a queen to a king bed. Would this be a worthwhile upgrade? Thoughts on other things you'd rather see? Advice in general? Vote or comment your thoughts, so I can give A417 so fresh upgrades for the 2026 season (that is already booking FAST 😱)
