Did you know this dolphin has a name? And so does every other dolphin in Destin-Fort Walton Beach. Scientists have found that dolphins have their own unique whistle for themselves and are able to recognize one another's unique names.

While impacts vary throughout our destination, power and essential services have been widely restored. For those of you with upcoming travel plans, please check directly with accommodations and local businesses, as some service disruptions remain. In preparation for Hurricane Isaias, Okaloosa County is taking all appropriate measures to prepare and minimize impact. This includes issuing an evacuation notice to all visitors beginning 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7. The safety of our visitors and residents is our top priority, and we will monitor the National Weather Service (NWS) and remain in close contact with the Division of Emergency Management (DEM) to ensure the most up-to-date information is made available.
