Chances are that if you’re out in the water in Destin, you will see a dolphin.
Here’s a few cool dolphin facts:
1. Bottlenose dolphins have 72–104 teeth.
2. Dolphins sleep in a unique way called unihemispheric sleep, where they only sleep half of their brain at a time. This allows them to keep the other half of their brain awake to breathe.
3. Dolphins evolved from land mammals with legs that were positioned underneath their bodies. This is why dolphins swim with an up-and-down tail motion, while fish swim with a side-to-side tail motion.
