Not every trip needs a travel advisor. There, I said it.

If you’re booking a simple weekend away and know exactly what you want, you may be perfectly happy handling it yourself.

But a two-week itinerary through Italy? Your first African safari? A family trip with three generations and very different expectations?

Those are the trips where the right advice can make a real difference.

My job isn’t to make every trip more expensive or complicated. It’s to help you make better decisions about where your time and money go. And sometimes the best recommendation I can make is to skip something entirely.

One of the questions I ask myself constantly when planning a trip: Is this actually worth the money?

Because there’s a difference between something being expensive and something being worth paying for.

Sometimes the suite upgrade makes all the difference. Sometimes the entry-level room is exactly what you need.

Sometimes a private guide completely changes how you experience a destination. Other times, I’d tell you to save that money for an incredible dinner.

And sometimes the hotel everyone is talking about isn’t the hotel I’d recommend for you.

I don’t believe in spending more just for the sake of it. I believe in spending thoughtfully, on the things that will actually make your trip better.

What’s one travel upgrade you’ve found completely worth it?

Not all five-star hotels are created equal. And the most expensive one isn’t automatically the best.

One hotel might have the better location. Another might have incredible service but rooms that aren’t quite your style. And sometimes a particular room category is worth the upgrade, while another really isn’t.

These are the details I pay attention to when recommending hotels. I live to experience as many hotels as I can so that I can give you honest advice and direction.

It’s not just about finding somewhere beautiful. It’s about knowing which hotel is the right fit, which details matter, and where your money is best spent.

And yes, when preferred partner perks are available, we’ll book for those for you too.

From questionable flight connections to hotels that look a whole lot better online, there are a few travel decisions we’re happy to leave behind.

And while we love a beautiful hotel and a well-planned itinerary, we’re much more interested in making sure your trip is actually worth the time and money you’re spending on it.
