💭 JUST A THOUGHT: Why don’t we normalize passports from birth? 🌎👶🏾✈️

When a child is born in the United States, we begin establishing their identity almost immediately. Birth certificate. Social Security number.

So why not make getting their first passport part of those beginning stages too?

I understand that children’s passports have special requirements, parental consent, photos, fees, and have to be renewed more frequently. I’m not overlooking any of that.

I’m talking about the concept.

What if families were introduced to the passport process from the very beginning instead of waiting until somebody finally decides to leave the country?

Imagine a generation of children growing up where having a passport is just as normal as having a birth certificate.

Not because they have a trip booked.

Because the world is available to them. 🌍

Maybe that child uses it at 2.
Maybe at 8.
Maybe at 15.

But imagine growing up already knowing:

“I have a passport. I can see the world.”

Travel exposes children to different cultures, foods, languages, histories, people and ways of living. And sometimes the first barrier to experiencing any of it is simply never having taken that first step.

We talk about preparing children financially.
We talk about preparing them academically.

Why not prepare them globally, too?

But I also understand that getting on a plane, cruise ship or motorcoach with people you met through a community is a much bigger step than commenting under a Facebook post. 😂

So I want to know:

My goal isn’t simply:
