All 12 of us successfully climbed Thorang La pass and completed the Annapurna Circuit trek today!

The pass is 5,416 meters or 17,769 ft high.

Ages of our group remembers ranged from 40s all the way to 70 years old. Many in the group had not previously been higher than a Colorado 14er. Yet nobody had altitude sickness, we all climbed strong!!

I love to see a well thought out plan executed to perfection. Perfect weather conditions certainly helped too 😀

Expedition Himalaya joined us in celebrating with a surprise cake at dinner tonight in Jomsom.

Tomorrow we drive to Pokhara for a rest day, then fly to Kathmandu on Tuesday to complete the high elevation trekking adventure.

Arrived in Yak Kharka and we have WiFi, sweet!

The entire team is doing well adjusting to the dry air and elevation.

After lunch we’ll do a short acclimatization hike and then rest until dinner.

Views are simply amazing!!

Today we head up! We’ll stop at the small village of Yak Kharka tonight at an elevation of around 13,400 ft. Tomorrow we’ll climb to the village of Thorong Phedi at an elevation of nearly 15,000 feet.

Monday we’ll attempt to cross the famous Thorong La Pass, the highest point on the Annapurna Circuit at 17,769 feet! It’s likely a very long day, as most groups take 8-12 hours to cross the pass. We expect cold temperatures, strong winds, and packed snow on the pass.

Our connectivity to cell and WiFi may be limited or not available until we cross the pass and descend late on Monday. Follow our tracker for live progress!
