Mitsui Ocean Cruises has officially entered the North American market, introducing travelers to its signature “FUNATABI – Beautiful Encounters with Japan” experience.

Blending refined Japanese hospitality, exceptional cuisine, and intimate small-ship cruising, these immersive voyages are thoughtfully designed to connect guests with Japan’s culture, traditions, and coastal beauty.

The cruise line’s first vessel, the former Seabourn Odyssey, now sails as Mitsui Ocean Fuji following an extensive refurbishment. Carrying just 450 guests, the ship offers an intimate and highly personalized luxury experience, with immersive itineraries focused on Japan’s lesser-visited ports and the scenic shores of Japan.

A second ship, the former Seabourn Sojourn, is currently undergoing a major refurbishment and is expected to debut in late 2026 as Mitsui Ocean Sakura.

Together, these elegant vessels represent a sophisticated and authentically Japanese approach to luxury cruising, combining cultural immersion, exceptional service, and exclusive coastal exploration.
