Day 2 aboard Canyon Spirit! 🚂🏔️
We’re leaving beautiful Glenwood Springs behind for a six-hour journey west to Moab, Utah. Today’s scenery is a spectacular transition from the Rocky Mountains to the red-rock country of the Southwest—following the Colorado River through dramatic canyons, past the Book Cliffs and into the breathtaking Ruby Canyon. As we cross into Utah, the landscape transforms again, with towering red sandstone formations signaling that we’re getting close to Moab and Arches National Park.
Six hours of incredible scenery, delicious food, and relaxing in our seats while the American West rolls by outside the window. What a way to travel! ✨🚂🌄

Boarding the Canyon Spirit at Denver's historic Union Station, we’re off on a spectacular three-day journey through the Rocky Mountains to Salt Lake City! Our first stop is the charming historic town of Glenwood Springs, CO where we’ll spend the night. Canyon Spirit takes care of all the little details—even our checked bags, which were waiting for us in our hotel room each evening. Delicious meals, included drinks, and outstanding service made the trip's first day a memorable one. Our two rail car attendants, Gabriel and Max, and chef Gavin, are true professionals and an absolute delight. They even provided great commentary about the passing sights outside our picture window.
