What's your favorite part about traveling? That feeling of relaxing on the beach, the first site of an exotic animal in the bush or eating street food in some far off city? For me, it's culture. I am fascinated by the way different people groups live. This photo, captured in Botswana and provided by safari operator AndBeyond, makes me want to book flights today. I have to meet these people!

I concur. Botswana and South Africa were beyond imagination. I can’t wait to personally explore more of Africa. Until then, I’m researching all the places and living vicariously through my travelers. 😏

There are many different reasons to choose a hotel. For this weekend, my reason was bunk beds for my son and his friends. Angad Arts (Hilton) is a cool place, with a unique color palette, a great rooftop bar and lots of art. Well located by Powell Hall, home of the St. Louis Symphony, the Fox Theater and St. Louis University. It has great potential, but the service has room for improvement. Nonetheless, at the end of the day, we got what we came for — bunk beds. 😂

Twenty-five years after 9/11, New York remains one of the world’s great cities: vibrant, beautiful, diverse and unmistakably itself. It’s a place we love visiting and one I never take for granted.

Today, we remember. New York, in all its glory.
