عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، *أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صِيَامُ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ إِنِّي أَحْتَسِبُ عَلَى اللهِ أَنْ يُكَفِّرَ السَّنَةَ الَّتِي قَبْلَهُ وَالسَّنَةَ الَّتِي بَعْدَهُ .*

Abu Qatadah narrated that *the Prophet ﷺ said: "Fast the Day of Arafah, for indeed I anticipate that Allah will forgive (the sins) of the year after it, and the year before it."*

حضرت ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ *نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”میں اللہ تعالیٰ سے امید رکھتا ہوں کہ عرفہ کے دن کا روزہ ایک سال پہلے اور ایک سال بعد کے گناہ مٹا دے گا“۔*

_*(اہل علم نے عرفہ کے دن کے روزے کو مستحب قرار دیا ہے، مگر جو لوگ عرفات میں ہوں ان کے لیے مستحب نہیں۔)*_
